Adopt-A-Family 2006

Do something different this year for Christmas: adopt a family. Adopt-A-Family matches needy, pre-screened families with donors who provide Christmas gifts for the families.

Thirty-five families have already signed up through our Emergency Services program.

How it works for the adopter

  1. A single person, couple, family, group, or organizations calls Springs Rescue Mission to register to adopt a family.
  2. The adopter is given the family details such as names, number of children, wish list, phone number and address.
  3. The adopter contacts the family to find out the children's needs and, optionally, the needs of the parents.
  4. The adopter goes shopping for the adopted family, acts like Santa Clause, wraps the presents and deliviers them to the family.

Remember when you talk to the family it is just a wish list you can get whatever you want. These families just want to provide gifts for their children.
