Major Building Structural Damage as Vehicle
Smashes Through Mission Buildings

Some time Monday night, April 21, 2008 an unknown vehicle smashed through brick walls of two Springs Rescue Mission buildings and sped away. The damage was found early Tuesday morning by Mission staff. "There are ten's of thousands of dollars in building structural damage and it appears that the destruction was malicious since the two buildings damaged are 100 yards apart and in opposite directions." stated Joe Vazquez, Chief Executive Officer of Springs Rescue Mission.

The worst damage was to a newly renovated building that was to shortly house a fifty-bed recovery program for homeless men struggling with drug and alcohol problems. "I don't know yet how this will affect the building's completion time-line" Vazquez went on to say.
