Gift In Kind Donations
What is "gift in kind"?

Gift in kind (GIK) means tangible items (not money).

Which items are accepted?

We welcome a variety of new and used donations including food (perishable and non-perishable), housewares, small and large appliances, furniture, vehicles, office supplies, books, toys, and other goods. See also special needs for today's urgent requests.

Please donate only items of serviceable quality: only such items can be passed on to our clients. Please do not include damaged items with your GIK donations. (There is a cost associated with throwing away badly damaged food, clothing, and furniture. Broken computer equipment is especially expensive to dispose.)

We also accept stocks, bonds, annuities, life insurance, and real estate. For information on making a will or estate planning, please contact Andrew (632-1822, e-mail) for a free brochure.

Vehicle donations

Cars, SUVs, vans, minivans, and trucks benefit families when you donate them to Springs Rescue Mission. See vehicle donations for more information.

Can my donation be picked up?

Large donations, such as furniture, are picked up. To schedule a pickup, please call 632-1822. If you have a small donation such as food or clothing, please drop it off (see below).

Where can I drop off my donation?

Please drop off your GIK donation at 1 West Las Vegas Street (map). An attendant will take your donation weekdays between 10:30am and 4pm, but please do not leave donations unattended during other times.

See food drives for additional locations to drop off food.

Is my gift-in-kind donation tax-deductible?

Charitable GIK donations to Springs Rescue Mission are tax-deductible according to IRS regulations as we are registered with the IRS as a 501(c)(3) charity. Certain gifts may also qualify for the Enterprise Zone tax credit. Please consult your tax professional for more information.

What happens to my donations?

Your donated items are given out free of charge to needy men, women, and families through our programs and services.
