Sometimes, the act of giving an extra can of food, a gently-used jacket, or everyday items like toothbrushes or deodorant makes a significant difference for a neighbor in need. That’s why each food drive, clothing collection, and efforts to gather needed items  is so important to the neighbors we serve at Springs Rescue Mission.

It’s this simple: when neighbors have needs, Neighbors Act.  Your commitment today to coordinate a drive to collect everyday items for the needy in the Pikes Peak Region makes a positive impact. You reach at-risk and homeless families right where we live.

Your willingness to provide a place to collect any of the following items is a source of practical support and great encouragement:

Food
Fall Clothing
Hygiene items
School Supplies
Toys
Year-round needs

Neighbors Act collection drives are easy to put together, and provide essential items that allow Springs Rescue Mission to better serve our homeless and poor neighbors in the Pikes Peak Region. Remember, “Neighbors Act” donations we receive are distributed FREE OF CHARGE. Everyone in need coming through our doors receives help if we have the resources to give!

There are four easy steps in a successful Neighbors Act drive. Please read below to see how to participate!

Your Neighbors Act Drive: Here’s How

Four easy steps to a successful collection drive

“Neighbors Act” collection drives take you from the role of a bystander, simply watching people in need from a distance, into a genuine neighbor for homeless and at-risk men, women and children. Coordinating a Neighbors Act collection takes four simple steps:

  • First, decide what, when and where you’ll collect.
  • Second, click here to sign up to sponsor a collection or call Karen Hughes at (719) 314-2366.
  • Third, publicize your Neighbors Act drive with the flyers and posters we offer. Use the collection boxes and signage Springs Rescue Mission provides at your collection points.
  • Fourth, when your collection concludes bring your donations to our receiving warehouse  at 1 W. Las Vegas Street in Colorado Springs from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday, or Saturday from 9:00 am to 11:30 am.  If you are unable to drop off your collected items, please contact, Robert Worrall at 719-314-2364 to schedule an appointment for Springs Rescue Mission to pick up your Neighbors Act donations.

It’s that simple to make the change from being a bystander into being a neighbor! Neighbors Act collection drives are needed year-round, so why wait? Call or email Springs Rescue Mission today!
