"Springs Rescue Mission is an organization that represents the love of God in action. It is one thing to teach the love of God, and yet another to express it in a genuine, loving manner"

Low Income Expectant Mothers are Showered with Love

On April 19th Springs Rescue Mission invited 35 expectant mothers to a special baby shower for low income families. The four hour celebration of new life was held to lend a helping hand to poor mothers in need of baby supplies, clothing and other important items to properly care for their newborn.

All were welcomed into a colorfully decorated room with lots of food, cake and fun. Good fellowship and sincere interaction fueled the participation in many game activities. The atmosphere was friendly which contributed to many casual conversations as first time mothers sought the advice from those who have had children before.

The highlight of the event was the many looks of disgust as all the mothers participated in a baby food eating contest. As each mother had to taste a variety of pureed baby foods, courtesy of those cute little Gerber jars, they soon realized how awful liquid veal and turkey really was - an actual product you can buy for your baby.
