Volunteering For Events
You can bring joy and a holiday dinner with all of the trimmings to homeless and at-risk neighbors in the Pikes Peak region by volunteering for a holiday event. Our holiday events are designed to deliver an encouraging holiday experience for you, your families and those who are hurting in our city.
Community Outreach Dinners
Two easy steps to sign up:
- Fill out an application (First-time volunteers only)
- Log into the Volunteer Information Center to schedule your choice of shifts
We’ll send you an email with more details about the event a week beforehand.
Springs Rescue Mission hosts three community outreach dinners every year at City Auditorium: Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Come join us and serve homeless men, women and children a holiday meal with all the trimmings, warm clothing and good cheer. You’ll bless hundreds of lonely and hurting neighbors with a holiday celebration they wouldn’t have without help from caring neighbors like you.
If you’d like to sit with guests during the outreach and pray with them as part of our Ministry Team, please let us know by emailing KathleenD@SpringsRescueMission.org.
Each event is held at City Auditorium (221 East Kiowa St) and public registration opens on a first come, first served basis:
- Easter volunteer opportunities open for registration about a month before the event
- Thanksgiving volunteer opportunities open for registration on November 1st
- Christmas volunteer opportunities open for registration on December 1st
If you’d like to volunteer and help as a family or group, please complete a group application. Please limit your group to no more than ten people. After you complete the application, sign your group up online and email a list of everyone’s name in your group to KathleenD@SpringsRescueMission.org. We ask that you don’t reserve spots in your group, but rather, sign up the total number of spots you have people committed to filling.
Age Limits for Volunteer Events
Volunteers 10 to 15 years old must serve alongside an adult. For safety reasons, we require a one-to-one parent-to-child ratio for children 10 to 15 years old. Child friendly volunteer opportunities include: place mat setting, Children’s Team, clean-up, set-up and gift-in-kind giveaway.
Volunteers 16 to 17 years old may serve independently with parental consent.
