Springs Rescue Mission:

Honoring the Strength of Women at Springs Rescue Mission This Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is a time to celebrate the strength, love, and unwavering determination of the women who shape our lives. At Springs Rescue Mission, we’re blessed to walk alongside incredible women—mothers, daughters, and grandmothers — who are courageously rebuilding their lives in the face of hardship.

“Although you’re struggling right now and things seem bleak and hopeless, God does work miracles,” said Kim, a SRM program graduate and permanent supportive housing resident. “You’ve got to have the right people in your life, people to support you and motivate you. Positive people. Once you find those keys in life, anything is possible.”

Each woman who comes through our doors has a story to tell — often marked by pain, loss, and trauma — but also by profound hope and resilience. They are more than their circumstances. They are nurturers, survivors, and visionaries who dream of a better future for themselves and their families.

“It's like this year someone said, let's unlock all her greatest fears — and I’ve had to face them one by one,” said Crystal. a program graduate and transitional housing resident. “But by the grace of God, I've been able to get through … and Springs Rescue Mission has been really supportive and loving. It’s really a blessing, and I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't had that kind of support.”

A Place to Heal & the Safety to Grow

Springs Rescue Mission provides a safe and supportive environment for women facing homelessness, poverty, and addiction. Through our women’s shelter, recovery programs, and supportive services, we offer more than just a bed — we offer a path to healing.

“These people genuinely care,” said Wanda, a shelter guest who received health services at SRM. “It’s not just about providing food and shelter; it’s about making sure you feel valued and supported. Now, I know Jesus loves me because he sent these angels to lift me up when I was down and to keep me going when I wanted to quit. That’s what a family does.”

Our wraparound services include:

•           Emergency shelter for women in crisis

•           Case management and trauma-informed care

•           Addiction recovery and mental health support

•           Job readiness training and housing navigation

•           Spiritual encouragement and community support

These programs are designed to meet women where they are and walk with them every step of the way. From crisis to stability, and ultimately to flourishing independence, we believe in the power of transformation.

“They give me a roof over my head, food in my belly, and a bed to sleep in,” said Betty, a 78-year-old shelter guest and program participant. “They’re very caring people at Springs Rescue Mission. I feel noticed. I feel missed when I’m gone. I feel liked. I feel like I actually matter.”

The Role of Donors: A Community of Support

None of this would be possible without the compassion and generosity of our donors. Your support is what makes it possible for us to provide safe shelter, warm meals, life-changing programs, and the hope of a brighter tomorrow.

“A lot of us would not be alive without Springs Rescue Mission,” said Kelly, a recent program graduate now living in transitional housing. “And Springs Rescue Mission wouldn’t exist without donors; so what I want to say is ‘thank you.’”

On this Mother’s Day, your gift is more than a donation — it’s a lifeline. It’s the reason a mother can tuck her child into a safe bed. It’s the reason a daughter can begin her journey of recovery. It’s the reason a grandmother can look forward to anew chapter filled with peace and dignity.

“I just thank you,” said Pam, a 70-year-old shelter guest and program participant. “The money means a lot to a lot of people here. It helps us get everything we need. … If I could tell them [donors] anything, it would just be a big thank you — and maybe a hug.”

A Mother's Day Gift That Matters

This Mother’s Day, honor the women who inspire you by supporting women at Springs Rescue Mission. Make a gift in honor of your mother or another special woman in your life, and help provide a woman with the opportunity to rewrite her story.

Together, we can celebrate the strength of women and give them the tools they need to overcome homelessness, poverty, and addiction — one life at a time.

From all of us at Springs Rescue Mission, Happy Mother’s Day!
