Springs Rescue Mission President & CEO Travis Williams announced today that predecessor Larry Yonker will step into a new role as Interim Vice President of Advancement, bringing decades of trusted leadership and deep community relationships to help guide SRM’s fundraising efforts.
Yonker, who served as SRM’s President & CEO from 2013 to 2020, was instrumental in developing its 15-acre homeless resource campus in downtown Colorado Springs. This new role will leverage Yonkers’ community-focused vision and strengths to build new relationships, deepen donor partnerships, and inspire stakeholders.
“As Springs Rescue Mission continues to help neighbors in new and transformational ways, having Larry [Yonker]join us for this season will make our future even stronger,” Williams said. “I invited Larry to come alongside us because he represents the heart so vital to our work. He knows this community, he knows our donors, and he believes deeply in what we’re building. He and I share a core value — a belief that relationships are at the center of this work — and I’m excited to see how we can invite and inspire stakeholders once again.”
The new role is designed to be part-time and interim, allowing Yonker to continue enjoying partial retirement while contributing his experience to help SRM secure new resources, expand its donor base, and grow its board to meet increasing needs in Colorado Springs.
“I care deeply about SRM’s mission and the lives being transformed here every day,” Yonker said. “It’s a privilege to stand with Travis [Williams] and the team in offering hope and a helping hand to homeless men and women in our city. I’m honored to support this work in such an important season.”
