Have you heard about the Homeless Contribution Tax Credit (HCTC)? Help provide life-transforming programming at the Mission AND receive a tax credit for your generosity!
Donations of $250+ (check or credit card) are eligible for a 25% state income tax credit.
New to HCTC?
- Make a donation (check or credit card) of $250 or more.
- Contact us with the last four digits of your social security number.
- You can also write “HCTC” and the last four digits of your social security number in the
- memo line of your check.
- Businesses, please include your full EIN.
- We’ll mail you a certificate.
- File your state taxes electronically.
- For HCTC-qualifying donations over $5,000, the State of Colorado requires
- documentation in the form of receipts or your year-end SRM tax statement to be
- uploaded through its online portal.
Did You Access HCTC Last Year?
- If you received an HCTC certificate in your name last year, you do not need to provide the last four digits of your social security number again. Please continue to write "HCTC" in the check memo line for easier processing.
- If your family’s current year giving is made by your spouse, please contact us to make sure we process the certificate with the correct information.
Want to Make a Gift of Stock?
Contributions Ineligible for HCTC
The following types of contributions do not qualify for the Homeless Contribution Income Tax Credit (HCTC):
- Monetary donations totaling less than $249.
- Gifts of stocks under $5,000 or a stock gift that is liquidated before transfer to SRM.
- Gifts through intermediary organizations. Contact us for more information.
- Donations from a Donor Advised Fund (DAF).
