With spring here, and temperatures starting to rise again, I’m glad this past winter is past us. It was a tough season, especially for our homeless neighbors. Our shelter was full every night, and because of your faithful support, Springs Rescue Mission could provide warm beds for 63 people every night. I can honestly say you helped save a lot of lives. That would not have been possible without you.
Tragically, however, we also had to turn some people away. We just didn’t have the room. The number of homeless men and women in Colorado Springs is staggering and their needs are overwhelming. We simply need more space and beds to provide the real help our homeless neighbors need next winter. That’s why we’re pressing hard to build a new shelter, with 150 beds, and room to shelter up to 186 individuals if necessary, by next fall. But the additional expenses involved are draining us. And to make matters worse, summer is our most challenging time of year, as donations tend to fall off.Our homeless neighbors simply need your help right now. It’s a big challenge, but I’m overwhelmed by the graciousness of friends like you who are so devoted to Springs Rescue Mission and the people we serve together in the name of Jesus Christ.Thank you!
Without a warm and safe place to sleep, many of our homeless neighbors wouldn’t survive on the streets.
Every dollar you donate will be matched,
doubling the impact you have
on homeless neighbors in your community!
Help us reach our goal by September 30!
