The past two months have been quite busy at Springs Rescue Mission! Even though the Mission experienced our first outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, we have seen hope shining through the darkest of times as guests celebrate the holidays, share their stories, and even make the decision to be baptized. We're also reflecting on the year in our 2020 Annual Impact Report. Thank you for loving bigger and helping our neighbors during this time!
The holidays are in full swing at Springs Rescue Mission! Hundreds of neighbors ate a homestyle Thanksgiving dinner on the day before Thanksgiving. Held in our brand-new Samaritan's Kitchen and Dining Hall, hungry guests were treated to plates filled to the brim with turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, pie, etc. They also had the opportunity to get winter wear plus receive other services from the county.
This event was COVID-conscious through our Layers of Safety protocol, which included seating times for the guests, sanitization in between seatings, reduced dining capacity, mask availability and multiple hand-washing stations.
A few weeks later, Work Engagement team members were filled with Christmas cheer as they decorated a tree in the new Samaritan's Kitchen and Dining Room! Everyone had a wonderful time decorating for the season and bringing a bit more Christmas joy to the Springs Rescue Mission campus.
Christmas is a time for hope. Although it's been a difficult year for so many, we see hope shine through the darkness every day at Springs Rescue Mission. And it's all made possible by your support!
Lori, Ross and Vince know what it's like to find hope in the darkness. Read their stories in the 2020 Annual Report, plus see all the ways you've helped hope shine this year.
After nine months of diligent work to keep homeless men and women safe from the COVID-19 virus, Springs Rescue Mission has now experienced our first confirmed outbreak of the virus.

We were thrilled to see another guest make the important choice to be baptized! Congratulations to William on making this significant decision. He was baptized by a volunteer during a weekly Bible Study.
What are you waiting for? Get up and be baptized. Have your sins washed away by calling on the name of the Lord.’
