Janine celebrating her graduation from the HOPE Program, symbolizing her journey from homelessness to stable work and housing.

The past few weeks have been full of excitement at Springs Rescue Mission! Guests enjoyed a fantastic Easter meal, plus we're taking important steps in the fight against COVID. Plus, our President and CEO had the opportunity to sit down with the Vice President! Take a look at some of the recent highlights at SRM below.

Here are a few highlights from the past few weeks:

Vice President Kamala Harris Meets with SRM President and CEO Jack Briggs

On March 16th, SRM President and CEO Jack Briggs was invited to participate in a roundtable discussion with Vice President Kamala Harris, as well as Southern Colorado small business owners. The roundtable covered a variety of topics, such as homelessness, COVID response, housing and faith. Get all the details here.

Guests celebrate Easter with a homestyle meal at Springs Rescue Mission

Hundreds of neighbors enjoyed a homestyle Easter meal last week in the new Samaritan's Kitchen and Dining Room. Guests were treated to a delicious meal of ham, carrots, potatoes and other goodies. Stu Davis, of COS I Love You, offered a message of hope during the meals, and everyone was given a large egg full of hygiene supplies as they left.

200 COVID-19 Vaccines Administered at Springs Rescue Mission

Thanks to a special collaboration with Peak Vista Community Health Centers, nearly 200 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to guests and frontline staff at Springs Rescue Mission, with more on the way in early April. Guests were thrilled to receive the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine, and couldn't contain their excitement as they proudly showed off their vaccination cards.
